Upgraded Aluminum Brackets for Gas Lanterns
In Coastal Areas / Salt Air Environments
Sometimes in life, the “standard” product just won’t do.
For customers who live in coastal areas or other places where there’s a salty air environment, you’ve probably already become accustomed to things like rust destroying things that live outdoors.
Unfortunately, if you go with standard brackets on a gas lantern you may experience the same thing.
Flambeaux Gas and Electric Lights products come standard with Steel Brackets.
Special Considerations for Coastal Environments
Due to the impact of salt on our brackets, lanterns used in Coastal/Salt Air Environments without the upgraded brackets will have the normal warranty voided. However, there is a better solution.
As a result of customers asking for a stronger, more corrosion resistant bracket, Flambeaux Lighting has developed an upgraded Powder Coated Aluminum Brackets which helps prevent corrosion.
Benefits of Aluminum Brackets:
Our brackets are not crafted only for support but in many cases they are ornamental and decorative adding to the beauty of our handcrafted fixtures. Benefits of aluminum brackets include
- Non-corrosive — Aluminum does not rust. It’s protected by its own naturally occurring oxide film, a protection that can be further enhanced by anodizing or other finishing techniques.
- Durable — Aluminum profiles can be made as strong as needed for most applications. Cold-weather applications are particularly well-served by aluminum because, as temperatures fall, aluminum actually becomes stronger.
- Lightweight — Aluminum weighs less by volume than most other metals. In fact, it is about one-third the weight of iron, steel, copper, or brass. This makes it easier to handle and install.
- Accepts different finishes — Aluminum can be finished with a variety of common techniques, including liquid paint, powder coatings, anodizing, or electroplating.
So if you live in one of these coastal areas, we understand your frustration at paying a little more for the upgraded aluminum brackets. However, we’re convinced that you’ll be happy with your investment as these brackets WILL look better and last longer.
These corrosive areas can and will destroy the standard steel brackets as shown below:
